Volunteering is a great way to contribute to our local community.
Here are some of the volunteer opportunities currently available:
Garden Volunteer Facilitator
Do you love being in the garden and connecting with people?
We're looking for a motivated and community-minded Gardening Group Facilitator to support and supervise a small team of volunteers involved in the Friday Inclusive Gardening Group. There is a focus on creating a safe and engaging space for participants while also contributing to the maintenance and place-making of the Community and Sensory Gardens.
Community Connector & Admin Support
Are you a people's person and natural networker?
We're seeking a person-centred Community Connector to support and build positive relationships with RSNH Community Lunch attendees and to assist with office administrative tasks.
The Community Lunch takes place every Wednesday. It is an opportunity for members of the community to access a home-cooked meal,while strengthening connections with others. We aim to foster a sense of community and make everyone feel welcome.
Playgroup Support
Do you have a background in community support or early childhood?
We're looking for a passionate and motivated Playgroup Support Volunteer to assist on Wednesday and Thursday each week. There is a strong focus on creating a safe and welcoming space for children and parents, while also contributing to planning and delivery of activities.
Barista & Cafe all-rounder
Do you have Barista skills and want to work in a fulfilling communty-centred environment?
We are seeking a experienced and friendly Barista/Cafe all-rounder to support our Community Cafe. The role will focus on making quality coffee, providing friendly and hospitable service.
The Cafe operates from Tuesday-Friday, with assistance needed during busy periods on Wednesday and Thursday during Community Playgroup sessions.
Other areas where we also need a bit more support are:
- Building Services
Help us keep our facilities looking great: general maintenance and light gardening duties. 2-4 hours per week - Videography and Marketing
Help us get the word out to the wider community! We are looking for someone with a creative flair who understands how to best capture the ethos and values of RSNH in video format. short-term and ongoing volunteer roles available.

We also welcome work experience placements for tertiary students undertaking courses relevant to working in the community. If you have time and skills to offer over an extended period you may be able to lead in the creation of a new community project or activity.
